The Echinacea (also known as the cone flower) is an old medicinal plant from North America that has found its place in countless medicinal preparations. But it is also a fantastic eye-catcher. Its purple petals hang down a little so that the flower looks like an umbrella and acts like a magnet on bees, bumblebees and butterflies. It prefers a sunny location with a loose, well-drained garden soil.
